An evening with my love (Taylor Swift, of course):
As those who are following my blog may know, last weekend I took Friday (mostly) off and went to NYC with my sis, mom, and grandma (henceforth to be referred to by her proper name, Abue, short for abuela – funny sidenote: when I was younger I used to make up little poems and put them in cards for all birthdays, holidays, etc. One birthday I wrote “Aube” – to be pronounced Auuuuube – instead of Abue, and I firmly believe I will NEVER hear the end of it. I also will NEVER make that mistake again!). ANYWAY, we saw the Newsies on Broadway at the Nederlander Theater, which was just a short walk from our hotel, which was awesome! Even if the show was terrible (which it was not), there is nothing wrong with watching a bunch of attractive young men dance and sing like crazy! The show was amazing and my sister and I fulfilled our childhood dream of seeing the show which we have watched the movie of countless times (we were obsessed). We even stayed after to take pictures with some boys 🙂
Then, we crossed the border to New Jersey and headed off the RED Tour!
Taylor Swift was SPECTACULAR! I accidentally bought club level seats (not really sure how that happened – I just selected “best seats available”, as I always do, and that’s what popped up…). My mom could not thank me enough for getting club level – she was thrilled. We drank these “adult Capri Sun’s”, as we called them, which were actually strawberry margaritas in juice bags, which were delicious, and ate pizza and such while we watched the opening acts (SO GOOD!). I even got wine in a wine glass with a lid! Ed Sheeran total rocked it, and even Austin Mahone (a Beiber clone, I believe) was extremely entertaining. (“I can’t wait for him to play his new song!” my sister goes…). Even the first country singer Joel Crouse, was really good, and super attractive, I might add.
As for Taylor Swift? There are no words. I love her, and she did not disappoint. My mom told me I am never allowed to go to another Taylor Swift concert without her. It only took one song to convert her to a Swiftie – she is that good. (This is the same woman who previously turned down the chance to go to a Tay Swift concert.) I danced and screamed and belted out every word the entire time. It was wonderful. 4.5 hours and 9 costume changes after our arrival, it was sadly over. I cannot wait until the next time I see her, and I cannot wait until I meet her – which WILL happen, I promise. I could go on forever, but I will just leave you with a few pictures and a few choice lyrics:
“‘Cause all I know is we said, “Hello.” And your eyes look like coming home. All I know is a simple name. Everything has changed.” ❤
This weekend’s baking adventure:
Yesterday I hit up Micheal’s and started buying supplies for my wedding cake adventure. I am currently making a mini cake (6″ round) with the vanilla cream filling that I will use for the second tier of the cake. I realize I have not shared my actual basic (delicious) yellow cake recipe with you, so I will do that as well when I post the results early next week. Keep watching to see how this goes!
