This website originated as solely a blog where I could share my adventures in baking, life, and stories of my puppy, Daisy. So, be sure to check out my blog, Daisy Bites! I hope you will accompany me on my baking adventures, which I chronicle with lots of pictures (I love pictures), recipes, and occasional ramblings that may or may not have anything to do with baking. Daisy makes frequent appearances on my blog with pictures, stories, and life updates, because – let’s be honest – an adorable puppy can brighten anyone’s day! I love baking and I love my puppy, and I’m excited to share these with anyone who will listen (or read, in this case)!

Red Velvet Seven Layer Bars February 3, 2015 - So, there’s this baking competition coming up – my work’s annual Valentine’s Day Bake-Off. Last year, I entered 2 of the 4 categories and won both, which was both super exciting and super surprising. Check out that post here. This, however, has added EXTRA pressure for this year’s competition. Therefore, I’m on a mission to […]
Pumpkin Perfection: Snickerdoodles and Scones November 30, 2014 - Pick your poison: Breakfast or dessert. Or, you can do what I did, and consume both these recipes as breakfast and dessert…and lunch…and dinner…and walk-by-the-table-and-grab-one snack. Because that’s how good these are.
The Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie October 21, 2014 - You guys…I have done it. I have made the perfect brownie. From scratch. Perfect amount of chocolate. Perfect amount of gooey. Perfect amount of chewy. Perfect amount of decadence.
France, Je T’aime! August 24, 2014 - I’ve been working for Saft for three and a half years now, and, since I found out they are headquartered in France, I have been trying to figure out how to get them to send me there. Well, it took me three and a half years, but I finally succeeded. Our company’s headquarters is in […]
Countdown to France – 6 Days! June 17, 2014 - Until about a week ago, the only complete French sentence I could say on command was “Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir”. This is a line from the song, Lady Marmalade, and translates to, “Will you sleep with me tonight?” As such, this is clearly NOT a phrase I want to be throwing out in […]
Phrase-a-Day: 10 Days ’til France! June 13, 2014 - I was going to just use one phrase, but figured I should probably just go with a bunch of basics. Please and thank you and the like. Let’s face it: When it comes to more than the basics, I won’t remember much anyways! (Not without a few more lessons than I’m getting here, anyways!) I […]
Phrase-a-Day: 11 Days Til France! June 12, 2014 - I think one of the most important things is knowing how to count to ten: 1 – un (euh) 2 – deux (deuh) 3 – trois (twah) 4 – quatre (cat) 5 – cinq (sank) 6 – six (seece) 7 – sept (set) 8 – huit (wheat) 9 – neuf (noof) 10 – dix (deece) […]
I Tri’d. I Endured. I Conquered. – My First Triathlon June 12, 2014 - *Swim. Bike. Run. Swim. Bike. Run.* I’ve been chanting those words in my mind for weeks, preparing and leading up to my first ever triathlon. Well, I did it. Official Triathlete here.
Countdown ‘Til France – French Phrase-a-Day June 10, 2014 - 12 days til France! What am I talking about, you ask? Valid question. Let me explain… So, after over 3 years of employment at Saft, they are FINALLY sending me to our headquarters in Bordeaux, France. (!!!) I will also go to our plant in Nersac, France. Then, I will round out the week with […]
Triple Chocolate Layer Cake June 2, 2014 - I’m not going to beat around the bush. I’m not going to toy with your emotions, or promise you something I cannot deliver. But, there’s just no better way to say it:
